This week, Food For Free is working with the cities of Cambridge and Somerville to distribute groceries at 7-8 housing sites that are home to many of our most high-need families.

Beginning Thursday, we will make deliveries to two central locations (a senior center and a youth center), and begin to switch to a different model for these deliveries. To facilitate access across the city, and to prioritize those with the greatest need, we will be working with the City of Cambridge, the Cambridge Housing Authority, and the Cambridge Food Pantry Network to offer food deliveries on an opt-in basis.

The City of Cambridge will create a number where residents in-need can call to opt-in to these deliveries. We will publicize that number when it goes live, which we expect to be later this week.
