Note: This position has been filled.

Food For Free is a Cambridge-based, non-profit organization dedicated to providing the Greater Boston community with reliable access to fresh and nutritious food. Food For Free accomplishes its mission through food rescue, partnerships with schools, colleges and traditional food organizations, and our own direct service programs. In 2017, Food For Free distributed more than two million pounds of nutritious food to more than 30,000 people throughout Greater Boston.

Summary
Food For Free is hiring a part-time Program Coordinator for our Family Meals program. Family Meals re-purposes surplus prepared foods, donated from local university dining halls and corporate cafeterias, into single-serving frozen meals for people with limited access to kitchens, such as community college students and their families. The Program Coordinator will 1) serve as a kitchen manager; 2) manage incoming Family Meals food donations; 3) manage distribution of meals to Food For Free’s recipient agencies.

The Program Coordinator position is 25 hours/week initially, with the potential to increase in the future as the program continues to grow. There is the likelihood of fewer hours available in the summer months. Our kitchen facility is in Watertown Square, and may relocate to Cambridge in the coming months. Food For Free’s office is located in Central Square. The Program Coordinator will report to the Program Director.
